| Grand Master Announces Chapter Award Program |
|
| Distinguished DeMolay Chapter
The Grand Master of DeMolay would be pleased to recognize a chapter with a citation of distinction in achieving required criteria highlighted below with DeMolay's Service Standards of Chapter Excellence. Each chapter can earn the title of Distinguished DeMolay Chapter by the Grand Master if they qualify for this recognition in performance of their outstanding accomplishments. Chapters will be recognized at the 2008 Convention.
The program is designed for chapters to plan a well-rounded program of activities and achieve success through their service and accomplishments. A chapter is urged to review the menu of activities from the five areas of standards described in the program and to implement these goals in building and strengthening their chapter. The award program is based upon five areas of service standards in respect to membership development, community image and service, education and leadership training, chapter development and improvement and Masonic and fraternal service that complement our important DeMolay precepts and principles.
The time frame in which the chapter must qualify is from June 1, 2007 through May 15, 2008. Chapters will be required to achieve the recommended goals with each area of service in order to qualify for this distinction. An asterisk will appear to those goals that are required in each area that you must complete and the other goals will be optional in your participation. Once the goals of this program have been met within the time frame, complete the application with appropriate signatures and submit it no later than May 15, 2008 to the attention of your Executive Officer, the Education and Operations Committee in care of the Executive Director and Grand Master at the DeMolay Leadership and Service Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Please document specific and actual results on your application for each criterion that your chapter achieves with the five areas of service.

Biscayne Bay Chapter Anti-Drug Program
|
|
Biscayne Bay Chapter came out against 4/20, also known by many kids as "National Smoke Day" by holding an "Anti-Drug" day instead.
The event, called "Dessert, The Anti-Drug" was attended by over 40 people, mostly teenagers and pre-teens.
The young men and women had a great day filled with sports, desserts and 2 illustrious speakers; Mr. Augustus M. Page, III, a Senior Officer with more than 30 years with the Juvenile Justice System, and Sergeant Jaqueline Mesador, 19 Years with the Police Department and currently a trainer with the Miami Dade Narcotics Division who was also accompanied by Officer and Biscayne Bay Brother Harold Jones.
The speakers were just as impressed with the great work our young men are doing as we were with them!
In all, it was a great day. The DeMolay had fun, learned a lot and also raised almost $600 toward Conclave!
You can see more photos from the event by clicking the photo above. |
