State Scribe Letters of Intent

State Scribe Due December 1st
Florida DeMolay is now accepting Letters of Intent from those Brothers who wish to stand for election as State Scribe for the 2008 calendar year.

Your letter of intent should include information on your DeMolay experiences, awards and honors earned, offices held, your skills with office automation tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher), and if you have a computer readily available to use in your official duties.

In addition, the State Scribe, as an elected officer, is required to be an active participant in the activities of the State Chapter across the State of Florida. Details regarding transportation should also be included in your letter of intent. All Letters of Intent must include a statement by your Chapter Dad or Chairman that the Chapter is aware of this application, and that they approve of your candidacy as well as one from your parents or legal guardian.

All letters should be emailed to Dad Ron Blaisdell, and mailed to the State Office address, with a postmark no later than December 1, 2007. Interviews of all candidates will be conducted with the Executive Staff and the final candidates will appear before the State Chapter for Q&A and elections.

Installation will be held at Mini-Conclave.

For any additional questions, please email Dad Ron Blaisdell, or call the Florida DeMolay toll-free number, and press "0" to be connected with Dad Blaze.

We look forward to seeing a number of qualified candidates for this very important State office.
Special Youth Protection Class

Cyber Crime
Special Agent, and Senior DeMolay, Clarke Jeffris from the FBI Cyber Crime Unit will be coming to South Seminole DeMolay on Friday 14 December 2007 to speak on cyber crime, child exploitation, and Internet safety.  We invite the other chapters in our area, along with parents, siblings, et cetera to join us.

Casual attire for this event is preferred.  Please plan to arrive no later than 6:30 PM.  Dinner will be provided, and we ask for a donation of $3.00 per person to cover the cost of the meal.  Please RSVP to Dad Mark Griffis with your dinner head count no later than 10 December 2007.
Florida DeMolay Degree Teams

Stained Glass Window in FSL's Office
Our State Master Councilor has developed a degree team roster which was put together for the upcoming state-wide initiations.

Team members are encouraged to look over the assignments and everyone on this list, whether you are 1st team or a backup, should learn the part or parts you are assigned.

The current scheduled degrees will be held at Mini Conclave (January), Grand Master's Class at the Masonic Home (February), and Grand Lodge (May).

Please contact Dad Ron Blaisdell, or any of the state elected officers, for a list.

"Building young men of character
since 1919"

"I credit my family and business success to the values that I was taught; values that include respect from everyone, trusting others, and working as a team. Those values came from my parents, my school, and organizations such as DeMolay. I have always enjoyed and benefited from interaction with others - DeMolay was one of my first experiences in that regard. I would encourage all young people to listen and learn - your values are with you all your life."
