Florida DeMolay

Florida DeMolay was pleased to have three special guests with us for our Mini-Conclave in Daytona Beach Shores.

Dad Patton R. Hart, Grand Master of DeMolay International; Brother Austin Whitaker, International Master Councilor; and Brother Brandon “Buddy” Herring, International Congress Secretary we in attendance, and had the opportunity to interact with the more than 225 persons who attended Mini-Conclave, including 14 new brothers who were initiated at Mini-Conclave. (As Form 10s are received, they will be listed in the Membership section of the eCordon.)

It was great to have them in attendance, and participating in the events at conclave. Dad Hart, and Brothers Austin and Buddy will take back lots of stories about Florida DeMolay – and Brother Austin even learned something about high tide!

State Scribe
At Mini-Conclave, Brother Brendon Blankinship from Greater Titusville Chapter was elected and installed as State Scribe. He will serve from Mini-Conclave 2008 to Mini-Conclave 2009.

State Senior Councilor
With the resignation of Brother Jorge Landa as State Senior Councilor, Brother Anthony Pickren, State Junior Councilor was advanced to the office of State Senior Councilor. Brother Pickren will stand election for State Master Councilor at Conclave ’08.

State Junior Councilor
To fill the vacancy in the office of State Junior Councilor, the Executive Staff appointed Brother Brian Ferdon, from Lake Sumter Chapter, the Illustrious Knight Commander as the new State Junior Councilor.

And to fill the vacancy in the office of Illustrious Knight Commander, Brother Gregor Berry of J. Edwin Larson Chapter, was advanced to the office of Illustrious Knight Commander, Brother Guy Sutton, of Lake Sumter Chapter, was advanced to Squire Commander, and Brother Jesse Knafla, of Paul Revere Chapter, was installed as Page Commander.

This year, Florida DeMolay would like to start re-publishing the State Chapter Directory.

In order to do so, we need each chapter to submit their Election Results on a new form that can be found on this web site.

Even if your Chapter did not elect new officers, this information is very important. Master Councilors and Chapter Advisors should see that this is submitted within 24 hours of their Chapter elections, or, if you elections have been completed, as soon as possible.

The State Chapter Directory will contain contact information for the Chapter Chairmen and Chapter Dads, names of the Councilors and Scribe, and the location, meeting dates and times for each Chapter.

We hope each chapter will complete this information as soon as possible.

Greetings DeMolays and Advisors

As we enter a new year let’s reflect on the great strides of Florida DeMolay. The DeMolays and Advisors have shown the world that DeMolay in Florida has one of the finest programs in the world. I am so proud to have been personally involved in the start up of one chartered chapter and the beginning of a new Chapter, now under letters temporary. To witness the support and devotion of the DeMolay from other chapters together with the advisors was heart warming to say the least. My hat goes off the all the DeMolays, advisors and state staff for a job well done. I am looking forward to being with you at mini and spending some quality time with all. Have a great year filled with joy and personal accomplishments.
