Three New Brothers Join at Jupiter

Filed under: News — Administrator @ 11:31 am

We had a well attended function and the result was three new Brothers joining our ranks.

The afternoon began with the Initiatory Degree, and the DeMolay Degree followed directly afterwards. The Ritual may have been less than perfect, but all parts were filled, and the Ceremonies were done pretty well, for a “scratch” Degree Team, with no experience working together.

After a very nice dinner, the State Line served as Installing Offices for Jupiter-Tequesta’s Chapter Officers, and the two new members from J-T were Installed as Stewards before their heads had stopped spinning from receiving both Degrees today!

The Newest Florida DeMolays are Brothers Troy and Michael from Jupiter-Tequesta, and Brother Justin from Lake Sumter.

Besides a large contingent from Lake Sumter Chapter, Westside Chapter also had a nice contingent in attendance, a good time, and good food, was had by all.

(Our thanks to Dad Dietzman for filing this story.)

A Message from the Grand Master of DeMolay:

Recognizing the desire and need that many of our young man have to assist in bringing aid to the relief of the victims of the hurricane in the Southeast, we would like to suggest the utilization of the established Masonic Service Association and their disaster relief fund.

Through the efforts and research by Tom Labagh and Keith Klein, it has been determined that the MSA disaster relief fund is set up to aid in appropriate allocation of funds to assist in this area. A suggestion would be to utilize the Frank S. Land Memorial Obligatory Day efforts to contribute to this most worthwhile cause.

Contributions may be made directly to the MSA, however, we would prefer that your donations be sent to the DeMolay Service and Leadership Center, where they will be recorded and all moneys received will be forwarded to the MSA. Obviously, we would like the opportunity to track the donations made by DeMolay, but the most important goal is to provide relief to the extent that is possible, however it gets to the victims. We know that contributions made to and through the MSA will accomplish that goal.

More information is available on the MSA website, at http://www.msana.com. Please activate and motivate your Chapters, Members and Advisors to assist in this earnest and good work. The opportunity for DeMolay Service has presented it’s calling, brethren, and we are of the nature, and duty, to accept this call. Please forward this information to those within your circle who are also desirous to help in what manner they may.

Fraternally,

Jeff A. Chretien
Grand Master
DeMolay International

Please note: The Appeal from the Masonic Service Association also covers the damages that have been felt in Pensacola.

Greetings from the SMC

Filed under: SMC Remarks — smc @ 8:30 pm

Brethren, Sweethearts, and Advisors,

As usual, I would like to thank those that are supporting Florida DeMolay this year and a special thanks to all of those who have sent me congratulatory remarks about the recent election.

Next, I would like to sympathize with everyone who has been affected by the Hurricanes this Season. I hope everyone is okay, and look forward to the end of this Hurricane Season, as I am sure all of you do.

With the entire Southeast in such dismay over the recent disasters, I agree that it is hard to concentrate on DeMolay but, I feel that it can also be used as an opportunity to illustrate the meaning of DeMolay. This is why, I am dubbing the month of November, the “Florida DeMolay Month of Charity.” I am encouraging the different Masonic bodies to donate to the Masonic Service Association which is contributing to the Hurricane Relief Fund. Also, as a lot of you might know, the proceeds from the State Master Councilor Homecoming on November 5th will be donated to this fund.

I understand that most of you are discouraged, however, there will always be a brighter day to follow. A few hurricanes can never break the ties created by this organization, therefore with the future of this Jurisdiction in mind: Here’s to New Beginnings! And here’s to Florida DeMolay!

Fraternally and respectfully,

Ryan W. Jones,
State Master Councilor
Region III Coordinator
